Philadelphia - TEFL Course

Via Lingua is proud to announce, in partnership with ELS Language Centers, its newest TEFL Certification Program. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, is notable for its rich history, on display at the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed) and other American Revolutionary sites. Also iconic are the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, immortalized by Sylvester Stallone’s triumphant run in the film "Rocky."

Philadelphia  is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the fifth-most populous city in the United States.  Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor of the Delaware Valley—a region located in the Northeastern United States at the confluence of the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers with 7.2 million people residing in the eighth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.

In 1682, William Penn, an English Quaker, founded the city to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Philadelphia played an instrumental role in the American Revolution as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787.

The area's many universities and colleges make Philadelphia a top international study destination, as the city has evolved into an educational and economic hub. Philadelphia is the center of economic activity in Pennsylvania and is home to seven Fortune 1000 companies. The city is known for its arts, culture, and rich history, attracting over 41 million domestic tourists alone in 2015. Philadelphia is the only World Heritage City in the United States.

The TEFL Program Center is located close to downtown Philadelphia on the stunning, suburban campus of Saint Joseph’s University. Using the city’s extensive public transportation system, you can enjoy Philadelphia’s culture, iconic sights, professional sports, dining, shopping, and entertainment.
